David Bentley – Another one of the youngsters trying to break into the Arsenal team but the difference between him and the majority was the fact that he was English so immediately attracted a lot of attention from the fans, media etc. He was He made his debut a few seasons ago in the Fa Cup and slow and steady progress ensured that he’d get his chance with some of the bigger guns one day – It came against ‘Boro in the Carling Cup where he made his mark on the fans scoring a beautiful lob and was immediately claimed as the new Dennis Bergkamp. He captained the under 18 team too.
He had great vision, awareness and skill but he got too big for his boots – he felt that he should be appearing in the Arsenal first –team even over the Dutchman that he should be privileged to even be compared to. He was promptly given to Norwich on loan where he was impressive but even still, Arsene chose to sell him to Blackburn where he scored a hat-trick against United on his debut as a Blackburn player. Obviously many fans started to doubt the sale but you need the right attitude for a top club and Bentley, although looked full of potential, was full of arrogance and had a motor-mouth. He seems to have curbed that and looks a big talent and I hope he fulfills it.

Over rated, over hyped, over paid, and beleived all the bullshit that the press spoke about him
Poor player, will never make it at a top side. Relgation battlers to mid table is the highest he’ll ever get.
